Upgrading DX5150 Video Card?

Hey there guys.
I have a HP DX51590 small factor desktop PC. I would like to upgrade my video card to a size larger than the lame 64mb I have currently seeing that it supports almost no games. I've been trying to figure out how to upgrade but I haven't been able to figure it out. Installed in the motherboard are two PCI slots and one PCI-E slot, both of which are half height due to the PC's small size. I was looking at my family computer which is a tower and saw how easy it was to put in a video card, but when I looked at mine I didn't understand how a video card could fit in. I was woundering if anyone could help me with this issue and maybe give me a few examples of video cards that I could use.

The motherboard looks like this: http://fab51.com/workshop/report/final/ms7050_w1365px.jpg

I currently have an ATI Raedon Xpress 200 series video card

hi there
yes i can see the problem you have...however from the motherboard picture it looks like you have a pci-express bus (slot) that works at x8 speed and not the normal x16 speed
and then theres the limited case size,so you would be looking at a "small form factor" graphics card which is more commonly known as a "low profile" graphics card ...these are generally cards from the lower end of the range so dont expect any significant speed from the upgrade, allthough you can get the geforce 9500gt in low profile which comes with 512mb of gddr3 memory and a 550mhz core clock
installing the card in a small form factor case is also different from normal graphic card installation...you may need to change the cards bracket to the low profile bracket allthough this isnt allways required
the motherboard in the picture is a micro-atx form factor and these can be removed from the small form factor case and fitted in a tower/midi sized case,,this would give you more space for upgrades and would also allow better cooling with the additional space
a good and inexpensive midi case worth considering is the "Casecom KB-7760 Black ATX Midi Tower Case"( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/108280 ) ..and at just over a tenner its a bargain however you could allways go with the "Casecom Black Mid Tower Case - Front Blue LED 120mm Fan - With Side Window"( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/115479 ) ...this is more of a gaming case and has a side window and a few additional case fans
now for a card and the first i am recommending is the "XFX HD 4550 512MB DDR2 VGA DVI Out Low Profile PCI-E Graphics Card"( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/190767 ) ...this has some decent specs including a 625mhz core clock and 1gb of ddr2 memory running at 1000mhz ddr effective...theres a 64bit memory interface and 80 stream processing units
another card worth considering is the "ATI HD 2400XT 256MB GDDR2 PCI-E Low Profile Graphics Card"( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/154677 ) ..this has a 650mhz core clock and 256mb of gddr2 memory clocked at 500mhz(1000mhz ddr effective ) and with a 128bit memory interface and direct x 10 support this represents excellent value
i have also foound the "PowerColor HD 5570 1GB DDR3 DVI VGA HDMI Out PCI-E Graphics Card"( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/193878 ) and allthough its not advertised as a low profile card it will support any low profile bracket and if you change you case for one of the midi size pc cases then the low profile brackets are not required
also check out the "MSI HD 5570 1GB DDR3 DVI VGA HDMI Out PCI-E Graphics Card"( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/194744 ) ..and for such a small card this has some powerful specifications, and these include a 650mhz core clock and 512mb of ddr3 memory clocked at 1800mhz..and with a 128bit memory interface and 400 stream processors this is one mighty card for such a tiny card
any of these cards will do however if you can afford it i would go for the MSI HD 5570 ...this is a awesome card and will run the latest games fairly well...
if you do want to move your motherboard from the small form factor case to a midi case then make sure you look for the manual for the motherboard, you will need this for the diagrams of connections ( power on,reset switch ect ) and also information on usb and audio headers...
you could also use a shuttle case if you want, they look like this ( http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Cases/Micro+ATX/Lian+Li+PC-V351+Desktop+Chassis+Case+NO+PSU+Black+?productId=39416 ) ....
i hope this helps, any problems let me know
good luck mate !
