How can I redirect a sound from computer game to my speakers rather than my headset?
I play Call Of Duty 4 and I talk to my friends on Xfire but I wat to hear all my sound on call of duty, but direct it onto my speakers so I can hear my friends on XFIRE.
Thanks
Thats simple just go to control panel and select your speakers as the default device. However sometimes your computer make the headset the default device once its plugged up. So Plug it up then select your speakers as the default device. thats in control panel-sound

4 Things You Need To Consider When Buying A Gaming Headset
Over the past decade, the gaming industry has exploded and grown exponentially. With games becoming more realistic, the standard computers and accessories just don't get the job done anymore. While the visual aspect of gaming is huge, without great audio and voice communication, your gaming experience will suffer. A high-end gaming headset will not only make you feel as though you're part of the game, it will enhance your gaming experience beyond anything you can imagine.
The biggest hurdle for most people will be the price and this is a legitimate concern. While some of these headsets can be a bit pricey, most hardcore gamers will agree that they are well worth it. There's an old saying that you get what you pay for and this is no exception. Spend a little and you'll get an uncomfortable headset with marginal sound that you'll be replacing within a year. Spend a few extra dollars and you'll get a comfortable, durable headset with great audio and voice communicaiton that will last you for years.
Audio and voice communication are a huge part of gaming. A quality headset will put you in the middle of the action. You'll hear people before you ever see them or they see you. Whether you're playing World of Warcraft or Call of Duty, you'll hear your enemies and know exactly where they are before they even see you. Being able to relay this information to teammates or guildies with crisp, clear voice communication is vital. Don't be that guy on Ventrilo or Teamspeak that everyone has to mute because your mic is full of static or transmits every bit of background noise in the room.
Now that you've nailed down the price and have the audio in place, comfort is your next big concern. Believe it or not, this may be the most important thing to consider, but is often overlooked. After all, what good is a headset with great sound if it hurts your head or ears. You should be able to wear a good headset for hours and hardly know it's there. As hardcore gamers we all know that four to six hour gaming sessions are commonplace. Ultimately, you want a headset that can be worn for extended gaming sessions without hurting the head, ears or neck.
The final factor to consider is compatability and ease of use. Some headsets are designed for pc and Mac, others are designed for Xbox and Playstation, while some are designed to accomodate all of these. Some are plug n play, while others require a setup. This is solely up to the individual and his or her preference and needs as a gamer.
There are many gaming headsets on the market, ranging from cheap to high priced. As stated earlier, some of these headsets may seem pricey, but you get what you pay for. As a serious gamer, you owe it to yourself to get a quality headset that will take your gaming experience to the next level.
