As you have already found out (I’m sure)… the quickest way to level in this game is by doing Scenarios. If I am getting a decent amount of Scenario pops then I can normally get quiet a bit of XP.

I have never played a Black Orc before… but if you are ever going to solo then the number 1 way to level is to either A) grind on easier mobs or B) Do simple PVE quests.

I wouldn’t suggest doing PQ’s until you have a healer though.

I play on Gorfang as Destruction so I guess that makes us enemies 

There's no real limit to what one can do with greenstuff with the appropriate ability and practice. There are loads of sites and forums with hints and tips buried alongside everything else (check out http://www.warseer.com as a good start).

If you're getting the hang of the material, why not try sculpting some stuff: emblems, hair, purity seals, capes, pouches...

In our article for today is all about building a bell tower. So lets just set aside some of our worries and focus our mind in creating something wickedly awesome a Warhammer 40K Bell Tower. The most important component in building a bell tower is a brass bell which can be purchased on a dollar store which is abundant during Christmas season. Now that we had already the brass bell we can already ready to construct. So pull up your socks, demist your glasses and repeat after me,"Warhammer is my life". Did I say that out loud? Anyway, let's build some terrain.

Materials list:

o 20?x30? foam board

o utility knife

o pencil

o ruler

o popsicle sticks

o white glue

o an Ipod playing Zeppelin and a little patience while cutting the foam board. (you'll see what I mean)

Step 1 Marking the Windows

I tried making a Gothic/Imperial guard/city of death look to it. This is the part where your artistic instinct license comes in. Feel free to design and let your mind and basic instinct come to play in choosing your desired design of the windows. Draw your chosen design of the window on the foam board. It would be better to create a lot of windows on your tower. It creates a more clear feeling while looking through the building.

Step 2 Cut out your Windows

Cut out your windows according to what you have drawn, it should be pretty strait forward. This will test your patience sometimes cause you have drawn more windows so expect to cut more windows too. Although this is where you'll need to bite the bullet for a good while and just cut till you are so occupied in your work that when somebody come sup to bother you and call up your name three times, that only the time you begin to respond cause you do not want to be disturbed when cutting out the windows. After cutting out all the drawn windows its better to sand the insides to have a smooth sides.

Step 3 Cut out base

After cutting out the windows you're going to cut a base out so that the walls have something to stick in to. You can made it just large enough to fit two space marines along the outside of the building once in place.

Step 4 Glue popsicle sticks

Start this by slicing popsicle sticks width channels in each level. Next glue popsicles sticks according to its place. These will give enough support to the structure when everything is glued together and in order. Once finished gluing all the popsicle sticks let it sit to dry for 5-10 minutes.

Step 5 Glue structure together

This is where we make busted up flooring. Make it so it's able to rest on both walls for stronger support. Hold the walls up perpendicular to each other and glue down the floors until it dries up. This will enable the building to stand by itself. Be sure that the wall can stand up all by itself. Next glue supports to the base. Use the windows that were cut from the walls.

Are these the tactical marines from the Assault on Black Reach boxed set, or the multi-part models available separately? If the former, then I suggest not bothering. Chopping the integral shoulder pad off and replacing it is more trouble than it's worth. Use a Dark Angels transfer instead.

If it's the multi-part set, then I suggest you instead look at investing in the Dark Angels Chapter upgrade sprues instead:

As well as including six plastic shoulder pads, it includes a wealth of other details to add that "Dark Angels" feel to your army. Plus, there are loads of bitz you can easily put aside for use in future projects when you need them.

Of course, it's a bit more expensive (£11.75 versus £4.90) but worth the extra investment, IMO.

Space Marine armour, in the background of WH40k, is based on a design over 10,000 years old. With time, the armour has evolved from one mark to another. There are 8 marks of space marine armour.

Technically speaking, one can build space marines with any of marks 5, 6, 7 or 8 from the standard tac squad boxed set. However, in practice, space marine armour within chapters tends to be broken up and distributed, so that a marine may have Mk7 legs, a Mk5 breastplate and a Mk6 helmet. This is both a response to damage items and a question of reward - a courageous marine may be rewarded with a piece of armour from a suit that once belonged to an honoured chapter hero.

The beaky helmet - often referred to as "beaky marines" or "combat wombles" - comes from the Mk6 corvus design. The design is a favourite with many veterans, because it is the design that Citadel Miniatures first produced for space marines and can be seen in the very earliest metal marine miniatures, the first edition WH40k rulebook and, perhaps most importantly, the original, plastic RTB-01 boxed set that put many of us oldies onto the path of WH40k in the first place.

Jes Goodwin later updated the design to the now-iconic Mk7 design for 2nd Edition.

The beaked design is both intended to act to deflect incoming enemy shooting and also to give an avian look, echoing the aquila - the double-headed eagle that is the symbol of the post-Heresy Imperium.

I know it has already been said, but "Assault on Black Reach" is a great deal. You are getting more then any started set before has ever come with. Also, a Space Marine army doesn't consist of many figures.

But if you really have your heart set on Tau, try ebay.com or bartertown.com first, since you can always get great deals on there. $210 is more then enough if you hit either of these websites up. I would always recommend getting paint new, but you should shop around for the other things.

Past Editions of Warhammer 40k

An expansion box set titled Dark Millennium was later released, which included rules for psychic powers. Another trait of the game was the attention given to "special characters" who had access to equipment and abilities beyond those of others (the earlier edition only had three generic 'heroic' profiles for each army: champion, minor and major hero).

The third edition of the game was released in 1998 and, like the second edition, concentrated on streamlining the rules for larger battles. Third edition rules were notably simpler and were less prone to give characters abilities only on the roll of a die.The rulebook was available alone, or as a boxed set with miniatures of Space Marines and the newly-introduced Dark Eldar. The system of army 'codexes' continued in third edition, enjoying some popularity.

Towards the end of the third edition, four new army codexes were introduced: the xeno (that is, alien) races of the Necron and the Tau and two armies of the Inquisition: the Ordo Malleus (called Daemonhunters), and the Ordo Hereticus (called Witchhunters); elements of the latter two armies had appeared before in supplementary material (such as Realm of Chaos and Codex: Sisters of Battle). At the end of the third edition, these Inquisition armies were re-released with all-new artwork and army lists. The release of the Tau coincided with a rise in popularity for the game in the United States.

The fourth edition of Warhammer 40k was released in 2004. This edition did not feature as many major changes as prior editions, and was "backwards compatible" with each army's third edition codex. The fourth edition was released in three forms: the first was a standalone hardcover version, with additional information on painting, scenery building, and background information about the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The second was a boxed set, called Battle For Macragge, which included a compact softcover version of the rules, scenery, dice, templates, and Space Marines and Tyranid miniatures. The third was a limited collector's edition. Battle for Macragge was a 'game in a box', targeted primarily at beginners. Battle for Macragge was based on the Tyranid invasion of the Ultramarines' homeworld, Macragge. An expansion to this was released called The Battle Rages On!, which featured new scenarios and units, like the Tyranid Warrior.

The fifth edition of Warhammer 40k was released on July 12, 2008. While there are some differences between the fourth and fifth editions, the general rule set shares numerous similarities. Codex books designed prior to the fifth edition are still compatible with only some changes to how those armies function. The replacement for the previous edition's Battle for Macragge starter set is called Assault on Black Reach, which features a pocket sized rulebook (containing the full ruleset but omitting the background and hobby sections of the full sized rulebook), and starter Ork and Space Marine armies. Each army contains an HQ choice, either an Ork Warboss or a Space Marine Captain.

New additions to the rules include the ability for infantry models to "Go to Ground" when under fire, providing additional protection at the cost of mobility and shooting as they dive for cover. Actual line of sight is needed to fire at enemy models. Also introduced is the ability to run, whereby units may forgo shooting to cover more ground.
